I remember reading somewhere that you can go to a website and rent textbooks instead of buying them from amazon, can anyone help me out? I have two summer history gen. ed. classes I have to take and looking at buying 5 books, what's the point if I can rent or check them out somewhere instead.
Thanks ahead of time!

ReplyDeletethere seems to be a lot of university/college book rental places out there...u could maybe check out prices on all of them and then see what u come up with... :) Good luck!
oh. one more.
ReplyDeleteHere is a great posting on "about.com" that tells you what to watch out for if renting...

I rent most of my books and I love it because so many go out of date so fast that you can resell them anyway. Instead when your done toss them in an envelope and ship them back for free. I have never tried Amazon, but I know Barnes and Noble is getting into it.
ReplyDeleteThe one I use the most is CollegeBookRenter.com, but I have rented from others like Chegg.com and campusbookrentals.com, but shop around because prices vary.
I forgot I have used the public library and books on tape. Have to save money as an adult student, because those bills just keep coming.
ReplyDeleteI have always used Chegg. They are reliable and they plant a tree for every textbook you rent. :)
ReplyDeleteI have used CampusBookRentals.com and really liked them. I had a summer class and paid $40 to rent my book for the 8-week class, rather than over $100 and then the hassle of selling it back. If I knew I wouldn't be using texts multiple semesters, I'd be renting my nursing texts!
ReplyDeleteIve used collegebookrental.com as well, good experience
ReplyDeleteHOLY MACKEREL, THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP AND INSIGHT! I will definately be looking at each of these websites for further help, you all rock!
